PRIVACY POLICY

The Southern Adirondack Beekeepers Association (SABA) is fully committed to respecting the privacy of its members and of visitors to its web site.  The guidelines below explain some of the steps we have taken to protect the privacy of members and visitors to the SABA web site.

Privacy and Personal Information

  • SABA protects member privacy by displaying member names and email addresses online as graphics, rather than as text.  This limits the ability of automated systems to harvest names and email addresses for the purpose of generating spam/junk email.  Members who elect to use the Market Place section of the SABA web site to promote their beekeeping-related products and services have their names displayed as text but are given the option of whether to display their email address as a link.

  • SABA protects member privacy by not publishing online any member's address, phone number or email address without permission.  Members who elect to use the Market Place section of the SABA web site to promote their beekeeping-related products and services are given the option of whether to display their personal contact information.

  • SABA protects member privacy by not knowingly publishing online photos of any youths (under 18) where individuals are identified by name.

  • SABA respects the privacy of visitors to its web site by not using cookie technology for any purpose, nor does SABA gather personal information about visitors to the site.  SABA does use software logs, but only to collect non-personal data that allow us to track general information about our visitors, such as the type of browsers (for example, Firefox or Internet Explorer), the operating systems (for instance, Windows or Macintosh), or the Internet providers (for instance, AOL) they use.  This information is used for statistical purposes.

  • SABA may occasionally conduct on-line surveys.  All surveys are voluntary and you may decline to participate.
